The Strategic Role of the HR Professional
    (And how to execute it!)
Presenter, Suzanne Kirk, MS, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

What is the role of HR in your company’s strategic planning process?  Using a model that outlines a process and identifies common strategic plan components, this session will help HR professionals speak the language of strategic planning and participate in a process that ensures PEOPLE are part of the plan to create a compelling vision for the strategic direction of the organization.  And once you have developed that strategic plan, so what?  We will outline steps to help HR play a key role in translating strategic objectives and tactics into the skills, competencies and behaviors that will drive progression in achieving company goals.

Suzanne Kirk is President and Executive HR Consultant with Employee Development Strategies, Inc., a human resources and organizational development consulting firm established in 2011.  Suzanne works with clients to ensure their HR practices embody their organizations culture, vision and business objectives by aligning performance management processes to business strategies.  In addition, to crafting custom HR foundation tools and processes, Suzanne is a dynamic facilitator of board retreats, strategic planning sessions and custom learning programs for all audiences, helping companies focus on the people side of business.

Suzanne holds a Master’s degree in HR Management and Development and is SPHR and SHRM-SCP certified.  She is also a certified administrator of the Myers Briggs Type indicator, the Leadership Versatility index and the CP1260 managerial assessment.  In 2019 she will serve as program facilitator for her 7th year in partnership with the Leadership Southeast Georgia program.

Outside her HR consulting practice, Suzanne is:

    • President of the Board with Susan G. Komen of Coastal Georgia
    • Past-President of the Metropolitan Savannah Rotary Club

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Suzanne has lived in Savannah GA for 16 years where her husband, (attorney Adam Kirk) enjoys raising their three children.
